DigiCirCo is a consortium bringing together several organisations involved in short food supply chains around a shared mission: the digitalisation of local and short food distribution networks. Created in 2020, the project responds to the need for greater transparency and interoperability in the digital data systems used to manage short food supply chains.
Coordinated by Oxfam-Magasins du Monde, Aktina ASBL and Qalinca Labs at ULB, DigiCirCo promotes data exchange between three complementary digital solutions. The objective is to reduce fragmented information systems, improve data quality and make digital tools more accessible and useful for producers, distributors and sustainable food initiatives. The consortium is also designed to allow other compatible digital solutions to join and contribute to the development of sustainable local food systems.
The DigiCirCo digitalisation process is organised around three main components:
By connecting producer information, online sales and collaborative logistics, DigiCirCo aims to strengthen coordination between local food actors and improve the operational efficiency, visibility and accessibility of short food supply chains.
